This is a brief summary of the performance gains realised with the Cobb SF short ram air intake (SRI) and airbox in a Subaru vehicle. The existing modifications the car is running is basic turbo supporting bolt-on parts.

Dyno Results
The following results are from a EJ25 Subaru Forester running a VF52, upgraded turbo-back exhaust, TMIC, BPV, EBCS.
+5.14% Power (Adding 9 kW, or 12.1 HP)-0.03% Torque (Negligible loss of 1 Nm or 0.73 Lb-Ft)
Power: 184 kW (247 HP) @ 5826 rpm
Torque: 339 Nm (250 Lb-Ft) @ 4564 rpm
Max Boost: 18 psi (1.24 bar) @ ~3400 rpm
Torque can be considered unchanged, while there is a gain in power. The boost curve seems a bit odd on this one though, and also the amount of boost is reduced. It looks to provide a minor power gain after all the other mods have been installed. The torque curve looks a bit odd on this one, but the power curve is looking positive. If anything, the torque curve appears to have been smoothed out and the peak torque moved toward the higher RPM range.
One thing I definitely did gain though, is a BOV-type sound audible inside the cabin when letting off the accelerator, as well as the intake vacuum whoosh. I'm still running the Turbosmart Kompact BPV (as BOVs are bad for our engines), but the sound effects you get from this is pretty addictive, begging you to flat foot it and then let off when a gear change opportunity presents itself.
If you're only starting out, or on a budget, I wouldn't recommend getting this as your first modification - but definitely worth it when you're planning to push numbers larger than mine!
