This basic guide acts as a quick reference, or a basic outline of rules, for people that have read the full instructions for the Splendor board game.
Splendor is an amazingly simple game, for the strategic depth it contains. You can win by playing as an analyser or just buying stuff without thinking too much about it. The full official rules in English can be found here
Splendor Rules
The Objective
- Have the most Prestige Points by the end of the final round.
- Once any player has at least 15 Prestige Points, the current round is the final one, and all players end with equal turns taken.
- If players are tied, then the player with the fewest Development cards wins.
Quick Setup
- Lay Tiles at the top of play area, amount of tiles = number of players + 1
- Place cards in tiers, level 3 (OOO) right under the tiles, then the other levels below that
- Reveal 4 Development cards of each level
- Place chips in easy reach of all players
- Chips are reduced for fewer players, except Gold Jokers, they are always fully in play
- 2 players: 4 of each standard token in play
- 3 players: 5 of each standard token in play
- Chips are reduced for fewer players, except Gold Jokers, they are always fully in play
Critical Points
- Some Development cards have a white number at the top-left that shows how many Prestige Points you will gain when you buy the Development
- Nobile Tiles will be automatically gained at the end of a player turn if you have enough Developments to satisfy their requirement (they can’t be bought with Tokens). Only 1 noble can be picked up per turn.
